TTera Calculation 0 is software that pre-calculates frequently used calculations from Tera Calculation 1 and Tera Calculation 2, which process shipping data, and creates the Access "T200" table. 1. Separates shipping data into case shipments and bulk shipments. 2. Converts bulk shipments into case counts, product liability numbers, volume, and weight. 3. Aggregates shipping destinations and items, and creates destination and item ranks. 4. Creates a data file called "T200" that compiles these data. Details of "T200" are explained separately. The process is described in the flow diagram on the left . There used to be a saying called the "2:8 rule," which meant that 80% of the volume shipped came from 20% of the items. 30-40 years ago, when management was not as thorough, dead stock was also stored, and the ratio was roughly the same. Currently, information is fast and accurate, so measures are taken to reduce inventory of low-flow products early on, so 20% of items account for 50% of the volume, and 30% of items account for 65-70%. By categorizing and aggregating these high-flow and low-flow items, or high-flow and low-flow shipping destinations, and effectively allocating equipment and work operations, an efficient distribution center can be created. |
